The Slumbering of Christianity – By Thomas Koester

“I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:

“‘A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.’” Proverbs 24: 32-34

America appears to be at the beginning stages of a revolution. The political Left, Marxists and Socialists are fanning the flames of division and are trying to create a war between races, by exploiting unfortunate wrongs and the sins of past centuries. Hatred for Christians, conservatives, and white people is all around, and especially in our major cities and metropolitan areas. Hatred for America and capitalism is being taught in our colleges and universities.

Because of the indoctrination of past several generations, I believe that great persecution is coming. A time of testing is upon us. Christianity is being assaulted. Patriotism is under attack. Our monuments, plaques, and history is being systematically destroyed, canceled and erased, leaving nothing to learn from. Our youth are being used by the Leftist Cabal to kill America and resurrect her as a Socialistic Communist State.

What do you think the world leaders and corporations mean by “Global Reset”?

Global Reset is simply a more acceptable term for New World Order. Do you really think that people of real genuine faith will be invited to the table? That there will be a place for us in this new world?

I don’t think so. Hstory shows us that when the Church abrogates its duty as Salt and Light, darkness invades and usurps our God given role as occupier.

Didn’t Jesus ask us to do something before he returns?

“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” (Luke 19:13)

The word occupy means to invest with the intent of increase. They were not simply to keep their Master’s pounds safe. Like the one servant that covered his pound and kept it hidden and protected.

What happened to the dude that kept his pound safe?

“And he [Jesus] said to those who stood by, ‘Take the pound from him, and give it to the one who has the ten pounds.’ And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten pounds!’ ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” (Luke 19: 24-26)

Jesus meant for us to risk everything for the sake of the Kingdom and the Gospel, not keep ourselves safe from the world, that’s the job of the Father of Jesus. God the Father keeps us safe, as we obey the Words of his Son, Jesus Christ.

“I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.” (John 17:15)

Who told you to take the Church out of the world?

It wasn’t Jesus!

Our vacancy in the would has left an open opportunity for the evils of humanity to move in. Our absence as parents, preoccupied with consumption of more then enough, has left its children’s hearts and minds empty and vulnerable. Allowing the State to “educate” our children has corrupted their minds and distorted their virtues.

Our youth of several generations have been robbed of learning and understanding the horrors of Communism. They know nothing of the Socialism of past Nations, nor the misery and death left in its ungodly wake. This is what happens to generations of children when, instead of teaching them historical fact, they are propagandize, and formed unknowingly into groups of agitators, rioters, and revolutionaries.

This is what happens when Christianity barricades themselves in behind the walls of their Churches, instead of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the marketplaces, downtowns, and the city squares.

“What good is a light hidden under a basket, and what good is salt left in its container?” – Jesus of Nazareth

Jesus preached in towns, hillsides and lakesides; he preached in town squares, villages and at marketplaces. He touched the leappers, the diseased, the blind and the crippled. He set the oppressed free. Cast out demons publicly, dismantling their reign. He crossed racial barriers, challenged religious intolerance, cursed the spiritual elitists, and toppled tables of greed and unjust gain. Jesus did all of this, and far more outside and in plain view. Was Jesus an anomaly, or the standard for all those who call themselves by his Name and hold to his Testimony?

What we’re witnessing today is what the world looks like when Churches retreat from the world, rather than going into the world. We’ve tried conforming our services to the appeal of the world, but as a result, we have created worldly Churches. Worldly Churches have no real spiritual power. The “Prosperity Gospel” does nothing more than create poor Christians, powerless to live godly lives that can impact culture and extol the virtues of our faith.

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3

I call upon the faithful believers in the 3rd World Nations to pray for their brothers and sisters in the West; in Europe and the Americas. We will either rise up from our apathy and preoccupation with prosperity, or join the Nations toppled in past histories. Either we rise to the occasion and loudly proclaim the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, or go silently into seasons of persecution and purification. Jesus Christ will, with all certainty, come back for his Radiant Bride, but not for a Worldly Tramp.

Wake up, Oh House of God from your slumber! Judgment is nearing and your lamps are unfilled, you are ill prepared for the day of disaster!

The hour is late – do you know where your faith is?
